About This Training
This short workshop is designed for prose writers who want to learn how to translate their work to the screen, and will introduce you to the fundamentals of writing for film and television – from basic formatting to some best practices when it comes to pacing and structure. We’ll also touch on the process of pitching a script, and how to prepare a pitch document.
Please come with an idea in mind that you’d like to work on during the class, as we’ll get hands-on with a few brief exercises!
About Jaq Evans
Jaq Evans is a speculative fiction and horror author based out of Richmond, Virginia who also does digital stuff for climate nonprofit 350.org.
She grew up running feral in the Blue Ridge foothills, then spent over a decade in a state that’s famously bleak and spooky—and frankly, it shows.
Jaq earned an MFA in Popular Fiction from Stonecoast (University of Southern Maine). You can find their debut novel, WHAT GROWS IN THE DARK, out now from MIRA / HarperCollins.
